How we met:
Well, this is a funny story. We met through a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend, and yes, of a
friend! We met at Crystal Salsa Club, back in the day, and instantly became friends. We're a perfect example of the old saying
'timing is everything', because later learned that we secretly had crushes on each other for a long time but due to the timing,
didn't start dating until 3 years later! After our first official date at a sushi restaurant, the rest is history!
The Proposal:
We decided to go to Puerto Vallarta to spend the long Labor Day Weekend. On Saturday evening, we decided
to go out for a nice dinner. Of course, those who know us, know that we got a late start on the evening. So when we were ready
to go to the restaurant we had in mind, the lobby told us it would probably close in about 30 minutes. So, on to Plan B. We
started walking... and ran across a cute, quaint European restaurant right next door to the hotel. After a brief conversation
with the owner, we found ourselves inside looking at the menu. And what a surprise! Small, elegant, and cozy atmosphere was
the perfect setting for the wine and great food we shared that night. Before I knew it, we were both teary-eyed talking about
how much we meant to each other, and how much our lives had changed. And the rest is like a hazy dream... When I realized
Robert was on his knee, holding a ring in his hand, and said 'You'd make me the happiest man in the world if you said 'Yes'...
Would you marry me?', I immediately said 'Yes!! Yes!! Yes!!'. The restaurant staff was trying not to be nosy, but you could
tell they were peeking from inside the kitchen... smiling. We called our moms in the US, at about 12:30 that evening to share
the news!
